Digium is beefing up the warranties for its open source IP PBX wares in an effort to assure customers that the products are reliable.
The company already had a two-year warrantee on all its analog, T-1, PRI and VoIP transcoding cards, and has extended that to five years.
Digium sells commercial products based on open source Asterisk IP PBX software. The company competes against fellow open-source IP PBX SIPfoundry as well as the likes of commercial vendors Cisco, Nortel, Avaya and Shoretel. (Compare IP PBXs.)
Digium has initiated a one-year warranty on all its software products that can be extended with the purchase of a subscription renewal.
The company is initiating a money-back guarantee on products that fail to work as advertised or that the customer is dissatisfied
with. Customers have 30 days from purchase to lodge their complaints and ask for a refund.
Digium’s IP PBX products are built around the open source Asterisk software, which supports a broad range of associated vendors
that either expand on Asterisk code to create proprietary PBXs or sell PBX peripherals.
